Special bearing designs
The Z-537282.PRL split spherical roller bearing is a rolling bearing designed for very demanding conditions. It contains two rows of symmetrical barrel rollers which orient themselves freely in the concave outer ring raceway. As a result, shaft flexing and misalignment of the bearing seats are compensated.
Bearing components are bonderised and/or have a molybdenum disulphide coating, depending on the design.
The Z-537282.PRL bearings are produced with a cylindrical bore.

Steelworks frequently require a converter's bearing on the drive side (locating bearing side) to be replaceable without dismantling the drive unit. This can be achieved with split spherical roller bearings. Due to cost reasons, split bearings are usually used as replacements. The main dimensions of the split spherical roller bearings are matched to those of the unsplit bearing with a cylindrical bore. The rings and cage of the split bearing are split horizontally. Due to the split locking rings, the split inner ring is considerably wider than the inner ring in the unsplit bearing.
