Honda Is Recalling Nearly 250,000 Vehicles in The U.S. Due To Engine Damage Caused By Rod Bearing Wear

Nov 22, 2023

Honda Motor Company is recalling 248,999 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2016 and 2018-2019 Pilot, 2017 and 2019 Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 Odyssey models in the United States. Due to the improper setting of the equipment for manufacturing the engine crankshaft, in the production process of the crankshaft, the crank pin is not properly polished, resulting in the crank pin appearing crown or convex, which does not meet the specifications, which can easily lead to the wear and jamming of the engine connecting rod bearing and damage the engine. A damaged engine may not function properly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of fire, crash, or injury.
