Features of Angular Contact Thrust Ball Bearing

Increased durability: These bearings are designed to withstand high loads. The balls in the bearing are separated by a metal cage, which helps to evenly distribute the load and prevent the balls from coming into contact with each other. This results in a more durable bearing that can withstand higher loads for longer periods.

Reduced friction: These types of bearings have lower friction than other types of bearings. This is due to the way the balls are separated by the metal cage. The cage helps to reduce the amount of contact between the balls and the bearing surface, which reduces friction.

Improved efficienc

These bearings are more efficient than other types of bearings because they have less friction. This means that they require less energy to operate, which can lead to savings in both energy and operating costs.

Requires Less Axial Space

In such arrangements where there is limited axial space, it can fit in well without using multiple bearings.

Designed for High Rigidity

Best to be used in those use cases where High Rigidity and Precision are the utmost priority.

Installation Steps of Angular Contact Thrust Ball Bearing

When installing the bearing on the shaft, use an installation tool that presses against the inner ring of the bearing and press with a smooth, constant motion until the bearing seats properly on the shoulder so that the load isn't transferred through the balls of the bearing.

When you have the subassembly ready to go into the housing, you can use a similar installation tool, but this time a tool that presses against both the inner and outer rings so that the bearings is pushed all the way to the housing shoulder.

Once you have that side completely installed, you can use a precision lock nut to hold the bearing in place and support the preload transfer that will be used once the assembly is finished being installed.

Once you have completed the left side, you're ready to install the bearing on the right.

On the right side, you can use a similar installation tool that pushes on both the inner and outer rings -- use a smooth, constant motion until the bearing is fully seated so that no load is transferred through the balls.

Once you have your bearing fully installed, you're ready to install the precision lock nut.

Storage Requirements for Angular Contact Thrust Ball Bearing

Store bearings flat, in a vibration-free, dry area with a cool, steady temperature.
Control and limit the relative humidity of the storage area as follows:
• 75% at 20 °C (68 °F)
• 60% at 22 °C (72 °F)
• 50% at 25 °C (77 °F)
Keep bearings in their original unopened packages until immediately prior to mounting to prevent the ingress of contaminants and corrosion.
Bearings that are not stored in their original packaging should be well protected against corrosion and contaminants.

FAQ

Q: What is the contact angle of a thrust ball bearing?

A: Thrust bearings are designed primarily to support axial loads at contact angles between 45° and 90°. Similar to radial bearings, thrust bearing designs may incorporate balls or rollers as rolling elements.

Q: What material is used for angular contact thrust ball bearings?

A: Bearings with a contact angle of 30° (A) or 40° (B) typically use pressed steel, molded resin, or machined brass cages, though machined synthetic resin or specialized polyamide resin cages are used for certain applications.

Q: How to preload an angular contact thrust ball bearing?

A: This is achieved by stick out grinding the bearing components at a fixed axial applied load, such that the inner and outer ring faces are flush with each other within a set axial force tolerance.

Q: What is the purpose of angular contact thrust ball bearing?

A: Angular contact ball bearings are an important type of bearing used in a wide variety of applications. They are typically used in applications where there is a need for high precision and high load capacity. Also, these bearings are used in applications where there is a need for low friction and low noise.

Q: What is the difference between radial and angular ball bearings?

A: Radial ball bearings are suitable for handling radial loads with some limited capacity for both radial and axial, while angular contact ball bearings are designed for axial loads with an ability to handle both radial and axial loads when installed correctly.

Q: How do you install an angular contact thrust ball bearing?

A: When installing the bearing on the shaft, use an installation tool that presses against the inner ring of the bearing and press with a smooth, constant motion until the bearing seats properly on the shoulder so that the load isn't transferred through the balls of the bearing.

We're well-known as one of the leading angular contact thrust ball bearing manufacturers and suppliers in China. If you're going to buy high quality angular contact thrust ball bearing with competitive price, welcome to get more information from our factory.
