• Components of the narrow V-belts

The narrow V-belt is composed of an elongation layer, a strength layer, a compression layer, and a wrapping layer. The strong layer is also called the tensile body, which bears the tensile force between the driving wheel and the passive wheel. It needs to have high tensile strength, low elongation, good flexibility, and fatigue resistance. The tensile body of high-quality narrow V-belts is mostly made of polyester (polyester) fabric. GB/T1171-1996 stipulates the structure of the V-belt tensile body, which is divided into two types: rope-core V-belts and cord-core V-belts. The former has better flexibility and fatigue resistance, higher transmission efficiency, and longer service life. However, it has high production process requirements and is only used in factories with higher technology and equipment conditions. The narrow V-belt uses neoprene with better performance.

• Structural features

The relative height of the narrow V-belt is about 0.9, and the top surface of the belt is arched, which can keep the belt core aligned in a straight line even after being stressed so that the force on each cord is uniform; the two sides are concave, and the side surface becomes concave after the belt is bent. Straight, it can better fit with the wheel groove, increasing the friction; the position of the tensile body is higher, so that the force transmission position of the belt is closer to the wheel rim; the height of the lower glue is increased, so that the effective contact between the belt and the pulley is The increased contact area can increase friction and improve transmission capacity; the wrapping cloth uses a special flexible wrapping cloth to make the belt flexible and have less bending stress after bending.

Internationally, there are two types of narrow V belts: knot width system and top width system. Some people call them "metric" or "imperial" narrow V belts. The section width system adopts the ISO4183 metric standard, which is based on the section line width. It is used by Britain, France, and other European countries. It is divided into four models: SPZ, SPA, SPB, and SPC according to the section size. The top width system adopts the RMA American standard, which is based on the top width of the section and is used by the United States, Japan, and other countries in the Americas. It is divided into 3V, 5V, and 8V models according to the section size.
